Hong Kong Airlines Business Class Review – A330 – Taipei to Hong Kong (HKG)
Hong Kong Airlines sure knows how to pack a pile of glam into a 90-minute flight! Fully reclining seats, cocktails, and a full-service meal - all on a flight without enough time to watch a feature film! I was so impressed!
Here’s a review of my recent flight with them between Taipei and Hong Kong.
The crimson seats on Hong Kong Airlines A330 had character and pizazz.
There was oodles of room – and each seat had aisle access. The even number ones had up to three windows – so I would try to get those again. Avoid the odd number ones as they only had one window.
Even though this was a 90-minute flight – each seat came equipped with royal purple bedding and pillows. I only put the seat down to see what it looked like flat – but some people took advantage of the quick crossing of the South China Sea for a power nap.
Food & Beverage
The flight attendants shot up to action practically the minute the wheels left the tarmac. They had a lot of work to do in a very limited amount of time!
The meal service started with drinks. I went for the Charlotte Street Chardonnay which was great – but the menu also showcased several specialty drinks such as Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. In fact, the tea selection was extensive with over 10 different blends to choose from.
There were two choices for lunch: I selected the pan fried chicken with red wine mushroom sauce. It didn’t look that appetizing but it was delicious! My meal included a fruit salad, an almond cake, and a dark brown sugar machi – and all of them were fresh and tasty.
I don’t normally write about the bathrooms on an airplane – But I have to call out Hong Kong Airlines because they showcased L’Occitane products in their washrooms! What a luxury and nice touch!
I really enjoyed this flight. Hong Kong Airlines did a fantastic job in such a short amount of time - - I would love to see what they do on a longer journey! They have everything to succeed: fab seats, great service, and scrumptious food!
